Register for a Twitch account

To start streaming, you need to sign up for the streaming service, Twitch. To create an account, click “Sign up” in the top-right corner of the Twitch website. It’s easy and free!

Once you have created your Twitch account, go to your Creator Dashboard and click “Preferences > Channel.” There you will find your stream key. You will need this key later.

Do not share this key. Anyone can stream on your channel with this key. This key can be changed by clicking “Reset .”

Twitch Streaming Options

OBS

OBS is open-source software and is compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux devices. OBS is the original streaming software. It receives the most recent updates and features first. You can customize it in any way you like. However, you will need to add overlays.

Streamlabs OBS

Streamlabs OBS and OBS are very similar, but Streamlabs OBS can be helpful to those who find OBS overwhelming. Streamlabs OBS is easy to set up, has a user-friendly interface, and offers hundreds of design elements and overlays for free. 

You can use it on both Mac and Windows. Streamlabs offers a mobile app that allows you to stream your mobile games from your phone. It comes with basic widgets, but you can add themes or more customizations. You cannot stream your mobile game from this app.

Twitch Studio

If you’re new to streaming, Twitch Studio is a good place to start. Twitch Studio, Twitch’s first-party streaming platform, was designed for beginners. It is easy to set up and use, with simple and customizable overlays.

How to stream mobile gameplay on Twitch using OBS

  1. Open Reflector on your PC and wirelessly mirror your iPhone or Android device to the computer’s screen.
  2. Important to ensure that your iPhone, iPad, or Android device screen shares OBS correctly. You will need to verify some settings. After the device has been connected to Reflector, click on the settings icon next to the device’s name. Make sure “Always On Top” and “Fullscreen” are turned off. To ensure that you can share your screen with OBS, these settings should be turned off. These settings can be toggled back on if you wish after you share your screen with OBS.
  3. OBS can be downloaded and installed by downloading it. The Auto-Configuration Wizard will appear. Select “Optimize streaming” or “Next”.
  4. Select “Next” and enter your video settings.
  5. Select “Twitch” under service and enter your stream code. This can be changed in “Settings” later.
  6. OBS will run a test on your computer and suggest settings that are ideal for streaming.
  7. Use the Scenes and Sources boxes at the bottom left corner to set up your overlays.
  8. Click the “+.” button in the Scenes box. You can name the scene however you wish.
  9. Click the “+” button in the Sources box just as you did for the scene.
  10. Choose “Window Capture” and give it a name.
  11. Select “[Reflector]”, and then select the name of your device in the dropdown. Select “Windows Graphics Capture” if you are using a Windows computer.
  12. Notify OBS if Reflector doesn’t show up. OBS can record your screen by accessing your system’s preferences. Recheck Step 2 to ensure that Reflector is enabled.
  13. Click “OK” to bring up your device screen in the OBS stream window.
  14. The order of your sources will be from top to bottom. To ensure that your webcam source is visible above your mobile device source, for example,
  15. Start the streamer game.
  16. Close the settings and click on “Start streaming” in the bottom-right corner of OBS software.

How to stream mobile gameplay on Twitch using Streamlabs OBS

  1. Open Reflector on your PC and mirror your iPhone, iPad, or Android device to it.
  2. Important to ensure that your iPhone, iPad, or Android screen shares with Streamlabs OBS properly. You will need to verify a few settings. After the device has been connected to Reflector, click on the settings icon next to its name. Make sure “Always On Top” and “Fullscreen” are turned off. To ensure that you can share your screen to Streamlabs OBS, these should be turned off. These settings can be toggled back on if you wish after you share your screen to Streamlabs OBS.
  3. Streamlabs OBS can be downloaded or opened. Permissions granted for your mic and webcam.
  4. Log in to Twitch to accept the terms of service.
  5. Configure your microphone, webcam, theme, and optimization settings.
  6. You can customize your overlays by using the Scenes and Sources boxes at the bottom left corner.
  7. Next, select “Live Scene” from the Scenes box. Navigate to the Sources box. Click the “+.”
  8. Click “Window Capture” to open the Source menu. You can name the source however you wish.
  9. Select “[Reflector]”, then select the name of your device in the Window dropdown. Click “Done” to save the file.
  10. Notify Streamlabs OBS if Reflector doesn’t show up. Recheck Step 2 to ensure that Reflector is enabled.
  11. In the preview, you can adjust the size and location of your device. The order of your sources will be from top to bottom. To ensure that your webcam source is visible above your mobile device source, for example,
  12. Open the game that you wish to stream on your iPhone or Android device.
  13. In the bottom right corner, click “Go Live”.
  14. Complete your stream information, then click “Confirm and Go Live!”

Twitch Studio – How to stream mobile gameplay on Twitch

  1. Open Reflector on your PC and mirror your iPhone, iPad, or Android device to it.
  2. Important to ensure that your iPhone, iPad or Android screen is properly shared to Twitch Studio. You will need to verify some settings. After the device has been connected to Reflector, click on the settings icon next to its name. Make sure “Always On Top” and “Fullscreen” are turned off. To ensure that you can share your screen to Twitch Studio, these settings should be turned off. These settings can be toggled back on if you wish after you share your screen with Twitch Studio.
  3. After opening Twitch Studio (or downloading and installing it), sign in to your Twitch account.
  4. Click “Get Started” to set up your mic and webcam.
  5. Navigate to the settings wheel at the bottom right corner of the app once you have logged in. Select “General” > Permissions. Grant Twitch Studio permission to screen record. This could cause the app to restart.
  6. You can customize your overlays and the stream that appears in your stream by clicking the tab to the left.
  7. Click “Change Capture” in the “Main Screen Share” section.
  8. Select “[Reflector]”, then click “Next.” This will bring up the window.
  9. Twitch Studio may not be able to display certain applications correctly. Try switching to “Entire Screen” if your device displays a black/blank screen. Once connected, you can put Reflector into full-screen mode.

Note! If Reflector does not appear, go back to Step 2 to ensure that Reflector is enabled.
