Whiskers started meowing at Jennifer’s belly, but it wasn’t the usual sweet and affectionate sound they were accustomed to. Instead, it was a long, loud meow that sent shivers down Jennifer’s and Julian’s spines. It seemed more like a cry than a simple meow.
What was even more concerning was that Whiskers’ crying didn’t stop; it continued day and night, filling their home with an unsettling sound. What was happening to Whiskers? He almost seemed possessed or something…
After days of persistent meowing from Whiskers, it finally reached a tipping point. Jennifer, unable to bear the constant, eerie noise any longer, begged Julian, “Please, take Whiskers to the vet. We need to make sure he’s alright.”
Was he merely ill, or was there something else going on? Could his constant meowing be a warning they were missing? Jennifer looked at her growing belly, wondering why their cat was so upset. “Everything will turn out alright,” she whispered to her belly, hoping to provide comfort to their unborn baby. Yet, in reality, these reassuring words were as much for her benefit as for the baby’s; she was genuinely scared
To add to their worries, the troubling thought continued to plague them. What if they were forced to choose between their soon-to-arrive baby and their cherished cat, Whiskers? This was a decision they didn’t want to think about, but it was getting harder and harder to ignore.
Deep down, they knew that if Whiskers couldn’t get used to the baby, they might have to take him to a shelter. This thought upset them every time it came up. But what was wrong with Whiskers? Why was he acting so weird? Were they missing something?
