When Julian arrived at the vet, he nervously watched as the vet conducted numerous medical tests on Whiskers. Deep down, he hoped there was indeed something wrong with Whiskers. That would at least explain his strange behavior.
But what if nothing was wrong with him? If Whiskers continued to act strangely, they would likely have to choose between their cat and their unborn baby. If Whiskers couldn’t adjust to the baby, they might have to take him to a shelter.
The thought upset Julian so much that he found himself holding his breath while the vet worked. What was wrong with Whiskers? Why was he behaving so oddly? Were they missing something?
Then, after what felt like an eternity, the vet finally laid down his equipment. “I’m done,” he said with a deep sigh.
“I’m sorry to inform you, Julian,” the vet began, his next words causing Julian’s heart to plummet. “I can’t find anything wrong with your cat,” he continued. “I’ve conducted numerous medical tests on Whiskers and explored all possible reasons for his changed behavior, but I found nothing…” he trailed off.
