Unable to download Windows 11
Funny enough, the Insider program members couldn’t download the OS. During its announcement, Microsoft promised that existing members who didn’t meet the minimum system requirements would have access to the Windows 11 preview build regardless. However, people soon discovered a bug that prevented the download due to ‘missing hardware requirements such as a TPM module.
This did not affect only older devices. Even modern hardware that met the minimum system requirements set forth by Microsoft was denied access. The message said: “Your computer does not meet the minimum hardware requirements to run Windows 11. Your device may continue receiving Insider Preview builds up until Windows 11 generally becomes available. In that case, it is recommended that you clean install Windows 10.

The exciting part about any new operating system release is the ability to see the updated design. So you may have been disappointed if you download Windows 11 preview. However, you will be pleasantly surprised to find that File Explorer looks more familiar than the redesign we saw at Microsoft’s keynote.
Although this skin is based on Windows 10, it is not the default. It’s unclear why some users have this option. Bleeping Computer discovered that this is a simple fix.
- Click the File Explorer taskbar at the top and select “View.”
- Click on ‘Options” at the top right and then go to the next ‘View.
- Now you should see a list. Look for the option that says ‘Launch folder windows in a Separate Process. Make sure the box to its right is not checked.

Once File Explorer has been restarted, you will now see the redesigned layout of Windows 11.
Facing More Download Windows 11 Issues.
Although the issues mentioned above can be fixed, some bugs are still not resolved. Most of these have already been acknowledged by Microsoft on the ‘Known issues’ section of the build release blog, so we can assume that these will be patched out in the coming weeks, but as previously mentioned, you’re joining the Insider Program with the expectation of finding issues like those listed below before the OS officially rolls out to the public.
- System text scaling will scale widgets proportionally and can result in cropped widgets
- The taskbar will not appear on multiple monitors, but it will be back in an upcoming build
- When hovering over Task View on your taskbar, the preview window might not show the entire window
- Future releases will address a small number of legacy Settings pages and fit and finish bugs.
- Quick Settings may not save the state you select when you use them to modify Accessibility settings.
